He will be missed.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M8PIbrMh6vo?wmode=transparent&amp;fs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;modestbranding=1&amp;iv_load_policy=3&amp;showsearch=0&amp;rel=1&amp;theme=dark&amp;feature=related\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I was having a Bo Diddley YouTube marathon after hearing the sad news and stumbled across this next video. Couldn&#8217;t help but smile at the awesome retro cheesiness of this <a title=\"Hollywood a Go Go\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hollywood_A_Go-Go\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"xLink\">Hollywood a Go Go<\/a> appearance. I especially love the goofy intro by Sam Riddle and the girls dancing in the background. So classic!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lfUni4-5-GA?wmode=transparent&amp;fs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;modestbranding=1&amp;iv_load_policy=3&amp;showsearch=0&amp;rel=1&amp;theme=dark&amp;feature=related\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, this man was truly a legend. He helped usher in the rock&#8217;n&#8217;roll era from its blues roots, pioneered new beats like <a title=\"a shave and a haircut\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shave_and_a_Haircut\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"xLink\">&#8220;a shave and a haircut&#8221;<\/a>, and was one of the first American artists to use female musicians in his band. Not to mention his crazy rectangle guitars.<\/p>\n<p>After playing with him at the Fillmore in 1999, Tom Petty summed it up pretty well when he said <a title=\"Tom Petty quote\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EbWrsNuA-e4&amp;feature=related\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"xLink\">&#8220;Elvis is King, but Diddley is Daddy&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The legendary Bo Diddley died yesterday.
