Ah, the refreshing creations born of outside-the-box-thinking and unlikely combinations. You know, like  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixdrinx.com\/recipes\/Holiday-Drinks\/Amaretto\/Eggnog-Martini\/\" target=\"_blank\">eggnog martinis<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barmeister.com\/games\/rules\/377\/\" target=\"_blank\">sloshball<\/a>&#8230;.And, um, all the ones that don&#8217;t involve alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>I find new <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_music_genres\" target=\"_blank\">musical genres<\/a> created through fusion or experimentation to be particularly exciting. Traditional categories like rock, pop, classical, etc are so&#8230;.yawn. Bring on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Crust_punk\" target=\"_blank\">Crust Punk<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Swamp_blues\" target=\"_blank\">Swamp Blues<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve got the instant classics like: <a href=\"http:\/\/remixmag.com\/artists\/reggaeton\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Reggaeton<\/a> &#8211;  &#8220;the mix of dancehall reggae, hip hop, salsa, cumbia and other Caribbean beats&#8221;, and <a href=\"http:\/\/kungfurodeo.com\/2007\/08\/07\/relevant-new-music-genre-nerdcore\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nerdcore<\/a> &#8211; a &#8220;largely white subgenre of hip-hop that celebrates the solitary pleasures of science fiction, computers and bad teenage movies&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a couple newcomers: <a href=\"http:\/\/realwizardrock.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wizard Rock<\/a> &#8211; featuring bands like &#8220;Harry and the Potters&#8221;, and  <!-- D([\"mb\",\"\\u003ca href\\u003d\\\"http:\/\/israelplug.com\/art-culture\/israelis-launch-new-music-genre-yiddish-rap\/\\\" target\\u003d\\\"_blank\\\" onclick\\u003d\\\"return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)\\\"\\&amp;gt;Yiddish Rap\\u003c\/a\\&amp;gt; - Yiddish cover songs of artists like 50 cent, anyone? \\u003cbr\\&amp;gt;\\u003cbr\\&amp;gt;Sometimes things that seem so wrong can be so right. \\n\\u003cbr\\&amp;gt;\\n\",0] ); D([\"ce\"]);  \/\/--><a href=\"http:\/\/israelplug.com\/art-culture\/israelis-launch-new-music-genre-yiddish-rap\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yiddish Rap<\/a> &#8211; Yiddish cover songs of&#8230;50 cent? So wrong yet so right.<\/p>\n<p>Seems like mashups are popping up everywhere these days. From musical styles to web applications. Guess that&#8217;s what happens when you encourage open collaboration and sharing between people, huh? \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Go music 2.0!
